Antonio Neves Nobre
António Neves Nobre (1993, Lisbon) lives and works in Lisbon. His paintings are the result of a process focused on revealing/concealing layers of paint and colour, through various types of marking tools. Due to its intricate reading, the images are practically severed from figurative representation. Instead, they are preoccupied with the atmospheric quality rendered by the tension between the form and the background. Neves Nobre obtained a BA in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts (University of Lisbon). He was nominated for Arte Jovem, Prémio Nacional Para alunos de Artes Visuais, Arte e Pesquisa, 2016. He recently presented the solo exhibitions O vento mal bulia, na galeria 3+1 Arte Contemporânea, Lisbon (2019) and Testemunhas, Travessa da Amorosa, Lisbon (2017). He has also participated in the following group shows: Entre Paredes: futuros, curated by Sara Antónia Matos, Torres Vedras Municipal Gallery, Torres Vedras (2021); Haunted Time, curated by David Revés and Nicolai Sarbib, Casa Capitão, Lisbon (2021); Pintura: Campo de Observacão, curated by João Pinharanda, Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art, Lisbon (2021); Dear Image Part II, Galeria 3+1 Arte Contemporâea, Lisbon (2020); 2012-2020: Obras da Coleção António Cachola, Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Elvas (2020); Água, Vinho, Coroa de Flores, Uppercut, Lisbon (2019); Murro no Estômago, Galeria da Boavista, Lisbon (2019); A Guerra como Modo de Ver – Obras da Colecção António Cachola, Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Elvas, Elvas (2018); Tudo o que é prfundo ama a máscara, 3+1 Arte Contemporânea, Lisbon (2017); Alguns Desenhos, Rua Actriz Virgínia, Lisbon (2016); Casa Ocupada, Casa da Dona Laura, Lisbon (2016); Finalistas Pintura Belas- Artes 14’15, Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, Lisbon (2016); Arte Jovem, Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa, Lisbon (2016); Ciclo Corda Bamba, Casa Ferreira, Lisbon (2016);Cast a Cold Eye, Museu Condes de Castro Guimarães, Cascais (2015); Ninguém diz Nada, Quinta da Alagoa, Carcavelos (2013); 96 Horas, Espaço Porta 6, Lisbon (2012).
